
James Grieve
Artistic Director
James is artistic director of nabokov and associate director of the Bush Theatre.
For nabokov he has directed Artefacts
by Mike Bartlett (The Bush, National Tour & Off-Broadway); Kitchen;
Bedtime For Bastards; Nikolina
and the World Premiere of Old Street by Patrick Marber
at The nabokov Arts Club. He produced Terre
Haute at the Assembly Rooms, on tour and West End and Camarilla.
James trained as assistant and associate director to Josie Rourke,
as staff director to Howard Davies on Philistines and Present
Laughter at The National Theatre, and on the National Theatre
Studio Director’s Course.
Freelance credits include Comfort by
Mike Bartlett at part of the Old Vic’s 24 Hour Plays. Comedy directing
includes The Suttie Show (Edinburgh 2008); Simon Brodkin’s solo
shows Everyone But Himself and One Man Comedy Club; Luke Wright’s
solo shows Poet Laureate and Poet & Man; and Aisle16’s Poetry
Boyband.
